How to specify furniture material before asking for a quote
A useful quotation starts with the application—not merely the word “board”.
1. State the application
Wardrobe carcass, kitchen cabinet, shutter, drawer bottom, office partition and concrete shuttering do not necessarily need the same material.
2. State the environment
Tell the supplier whether the sheet will be used in a dry bedroom, a kitchen, a bathroom-adjacent area or at a construction site.
3. State the physical specification
Give sheet size, thickness, plain or pre-laminated finish, colour or décor, and approximate number of sheets.
4. Separate required features from assumptions
If you need a particular certification, density, fire performance or moisture grade, state it explicitly and ask for the corresponding manufacturer documentation.
5. Compare equivalent quotations
Two prices are not comparable if the substrate, grade, thickness, brand, finish, tax treatment or delivery scope differs.
